 I'm just a woman who loves to sing...
I began my musical journey at 15 when I picked up a guitar and started experimenting with songwriting. It wasn't until I discovered the inspiring and beautifully chilling voice of Tori Amos that I decided to see if I had a voice of my own. I studied voice on and off for about 6 years with a private vocal coach in Southern California, took some writing and music theory classes at my local college (Saddleback), and began studying the techniques and styles of some of my favorite singing artists. I was the lead vocalist for a Contemporary Jazz, Samba, Blues, and Pop Cover Band for awhile. I studied those cover songs in and out, learned a few in Portuguese and Italian and although the road was difficult, l believe that experience helped me immensely in finding my own personal vocal style.
I've done a lot of little things here and there as far as recording projects, sold some CD's, had my music played on a Radio Station in Korea (see Artist Links) and some online Indie Stations and Podcasts. (see Artist Links) I've done some great collaborations with Musicians worldwide and have won a few contests for voice and songwriting. (see Artist Links)
I'm a pretty down to earth person and most of the time you can catch me with a smile. I love to go dancing (Reggae at the Sandpiper in Laguna!), hanging out with my friends, dressing up and going to the Renaissance Faire, all things Cirque du Soleil, working-out, and I'm an addict to the TV show's "Lost" and "Survivor". I'm a witty comic (so I've been told) and I'm also a Gemini, and I mention that only because I really believe there is some real meaning to this twins thing ;-). My favorite food is birthday cake and I'm an Starbucks addict!

"Fearless Radio" - Interview Questions:
1. What music genre influences and/or inspires your music?
Oh so much music has inspired me... I grew up as a teenager loving Heavy Metal and 70's Rock n' Roll. Then in my 20's I discovered singers like Tori Amos, Joan Osborne, Edie Brickel, and Kate Bush, and they inspired me so much that it was then that I decided I wanted to become a singer and began to study voice. After a few years I branched off into Jazz and Bossa Nova and was the Lead Vocalist for a Contemporary Jazz Band which I enjoyed immensely. I am also a huge fan of Cirque du Soleil and their music has definitely played a role in my style as a singer. Right now I'm very much into Trip Hop/Hip Hop and Electronic Music so really, just about every genre has inspired me at one time or another.
2. Which independent or mainstream artist do you admire?
Ahhh, too many to name. SEAL is one of my very favorite male artists and again, Tori Amos. I also enjoy this wonderful Jazz Singer, Jane Monheit. Recently I have found a liking to Pop music from India, so Artists like Amr Diab pop into my head from that. Besides that I would say artists like Edie Brickel, Joan Osborne, Kate Bush, Keane, Jazz Singer Nancy Wilson, and the awesome music of Cirque du Soleil are some of my other fav's.
3. What one song and/or music genre defines you as an artist? and why?
As I said before I like so many different styles I don't think I can put myself into one category. Right now I would say Trip Hop/Electronic, but next week it could be Country... haha! Just kidding! But seriously, I don't think I fit into just one genre, and that is ok with me. :)
